To understand the impact of percentages for categories aaa and bbb on the total, we need to break it down into steps.

  1. Identify the percentage of total:

    • You are told that 15% of the total is involved.
  2. Break down the 15% between categories aaa and bbb:

    • 62% of the 15% corresponds to aaa.
    • 36% of the 15% corresponds to bbb.
  3. Calculate the impact on the total for aaa and bbb:

    • For aaa: Multiply 15% of the total by 62%:0.15×0.62=0.093or9.3% of the total.0.15 \times 0.62 = 0.093 \quad \text{or} \quad 9.3\% \text{ of the total}.0.15×0.62=0.093or9.3% of the total.
    • For bbb: Multiply 15% of the total by 36%:0.15×0.36=0.054or5.4% of the total.0.15 \times 0.36 = 0.054 \quad \text{or} \quad 5.4\% \text{ of the total}.0.15×0.36=0.054or5.4% of the total.
  4. Impact on the total:

    • Category aaa contributes 9.3% to the total.
    • Category bbb contributes 5.4% to the total.

Together, aaa and bbb account for 9.3% + 5.4% = 14.7% of the total.
